Tips for Condiments

If a recipe calls for softened butter and your butter is hard, you can grate it. The grated pieces will blend into the recipe batter easily.

I prefer not to give my son "prepared" foods. Oatmeal is very nutritional, but very blah. Instead of feeding him the flavored instant kind (with preservatives and chemicals) I make old fashioned or quick oats and add 100% fruit spread to sweeten and flavor it. It seems to suit him just fine . . . and me! (Kat)

Put your jellies into a squeeze bottle to make it easier to put on bread. Make sure to cut the hole bigger on the nozzle. (Michelle)

To make chunky peanut butter smooth, (especially for those little people who don't yet have their molars) slowly heat up the peanut butter until it liquifies, then put it through a fine mesh strainer. Use a spoon or rubber spatula to help the peanut butter go through. Store in a separate container. (KMH)
