  Orange peels can be effective in keeping cats away from certain areas.

How to remove a skunk: We had three baby skunks living in my barn. A wild animal rehabilitator suggested feeding them slowly away from the barn, a little further each day until they moved into the woods (cat food works good to attract them away). I talked to them each time I approached the barn so they would not startle. They were accustomed to my voice and I got them out in about 2 weeks without incident. It worked great! (Becky)

We had a problem with raccoons invading our garbage cans. Placing vinegar on top of the garbage bags seems to keep them away. Note: Our neighbors also have tried ammonia. (Susanna)

Cats. Try adding cocoa bean shells that you can buy in large bags at the nursery in your garden. I read that it deters cats from the garden. It is also good for the soil. (Mary)

Cats. If you are at home while they are in your yard, a good water gun or spray with a hose nozzle a time or two usually does a good job at keeping them away from your yard. (David)

Pesky squirrels:
1 oz. Murphy Oil Soap
1 oz. Hot Sauce
1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
*Mix everything together and put the mixture in a 22 oz. Windex bottle. Fill the rest of the bottle with water. Gently mix. Then spray everything around where they are. (anon)

Repel mice by laying peppermint leaves around the areas they hang out. Attic, basement, etc.
